Babson Student Experience

Life happens. Slow down or ramp up your schedule, tailoring your MBA to fit your life right now. To make sure you have the support you need, each class has a dedicated technology assistant, ensuring all students can participate in lively discussions. And the same experienced faculty teach both full- and part-time students, integrating their real-world expertise into the curriculum.

Use your electives to tailor your degree to fit your precise career goals. These are offered in areas such as Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Food Entrepreneurship, Real Estate Investment, New Venture Creation, Cognitive Technology, and many others.

I didn’t want to go back to school for a typical MBA, I was looking for real-world skills instead. It’s refreshing to go to school at night. I love the people I’ve met at Babson, they keep me inspired and engaged.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the differences between the Part-Time Online MBA and the Part-Time Flex MBA?

Students who want full location flexibility should choose our fully Online MBA. Faculty and all students will meet for regular synchronous class sessions online, typically on weeknights. In this format, students can take courses from anywhere (although the meeting times may favor the U.S. Eastern time zone).

On the other hand, students who generally prefer an in-person learning environment, but need some occasional flexibility to fit Babson courses into their busy professional and personal lives, will prefer the Flex MBA.

  • When do Babson Classes Meet?

Students in Babson MBA classes, whether in person or online, meet at the same time at 6:30 Eastern Time to participate in lectures, discussions, and presentations. The live online classes meet at a set time, once a week, and are held via WebEx, a web-based video conferencing platform.

  • How long does it take to complete the Babson Part-Time MBA?

This depends on the pace you set for yourself. You can slow down or speed up in response to life pressures. Most students finish the Part-Time MBA in between 18 months and three years.

  • Is the Part-Time MBA visa eligible?

No, the part-time MBA is not visa eligible. If you need an international visa, you must apply to be a full-time MBA student. International students may complete the program fully online from their home country, but would not qualify for a student visa to enter the US. Please keep in mind that most classes run from 6:30-9:30 EST. Applicants who would like to apply for an international student visa should apply to a full-time program, including the Blended Learning MBA in Miami.

  • How many years of work experience does the average part-time Babson MBA student have?

We strongly recommend that all applicants to the PTMBA have at least two years of full-time work experience. The average student has between 5-10 years of work experience before starting their Babson part-time MBA.

  • Do I need to take the GRE or GMAT?

The part-time MBA does not require the GRE or GMAT.

  • Is financial aid available for the Part-Time MBA?

Yes. Financial aid in the form of loans, scholarships, and grants is available for U.S. citizens and permanent residents as well as international students to apply for. All applicants to the PTMBA can be considered for merit-based scholarships as part of their application review. Babson will also evaluate academic transcripts for potential Advanced Standing Credit for some core courses. Applicants can visit our Student Financial Services page to explore additional funding options such as loans, alumni discounts, and deferred billing options.

  • What can I do with a Babson MBA?

Students who have earned their MBA at Babson have gone on to lead at organizations like Amazon, Apple, Boston Consulting Group, Salesforce, Takeda, and Wayfair, in roles including Head of Innovation, Creative Manager, Director of Business Development, and Senior Product Manager.
